Nia want to share her recipe for Candying our Carnivore Snacks using our Australian Organic Freeze dried beef kidney and heart she ordered. She says “I'm impressed with the nutrient profile & the health effects, i.e. beef kidney is great for major allergy sufferers, which I am.”
She loved the crunchy texture, but felt they were kind of bland and would eat them with salt for the health benefits, so for a few weeks though about “candying” them.
So, she candied them using the recipe below, stevia and said “OMG! they are fantastic” they taste is reminiscent of crunchy maple cracklings.
Ingredients
Directions
Preheat oven to 250F.
In a bowl, whisk together the egg white, water, and maple extract and liquid stevia.
Put the sugar substitutes, sea salt and cinnamon in a suitable sized Zip-Loc bag, seal, and shake to combine.
Put the carnivore snacks in a second 1 gallon Zip-Loc bag, and the egg white foam, seal and shake/massage until all of the chunks appear coated.
Dump your dry ingredients into the bag with your chunks, seal and shake/massage until all of the chunks are coated.
Spread chunks in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Bake the chunks for 30-minutes, rotating the pan and stirring the chunks every 15 minutes.
Allow the chunks to cool for at least 30 minutes to dry and crunch up again. Immediate snacking is good too, but the texture will be "chewy"
